I'm having second thoughts about what type of sim-into-the-future league I start. I initially assumed it would be a PSBL 2053 start vs. starting a new MLB 2015 league.
Now I feel like the MLB 2015 league would draw way more interest. Thoughts?
More thoughts about MLB 2015...I would get a tremendous amount of value out of starting with the actual MLB rosters and prospects, but owners perhaps would prefer a fantasy draft to start the league.

I'm not worried about when it starts IRL time, or when it starts in game time. Just up tempo

Here's a crazy idea...randomly generate all players and randomly put them on the 32 teams (real mlb + LVA + another)
That way no one's attached to any particular player beforehand...you slowly gain attachments to your new favorite players...trades would be rampant...and best of all, no complaints that "Motte's stats are too high", or "Kazuo's stats are too low compared to our old league / mlb!!!"
A fresh start for everyone essentially
The key I see to the league...fast paced. People want to draft prospects and see them progress in a realistic time frame...waiting 4 real years for Julio Urias to hopefully progress to Kershaw-ness just isn't realistic
One thing I loved about the original league...the draft setup you had! I'd love to see that come back...sending out an excel sheet of the whole draft and analyzing every prospect before draft day
One thing I personally don't like is winterball...id rather all prospects train themselves and you get what you get...this whole "if a prospect doesn't get max WB then he's screwed" thing just doesn't sit well...no matter what limits you set on WB...
Anyways, just some ideas...I'm quite excited to see an excellerated active league again!

I'd love that. A current league with expansion teams (32 teams) and a fantasy draft. At this point, there's no hurry and the drafts could be completed with both incoming players (amateurs as time goes by), players not in the league (this would allow for a break when creating rosters and not need to go super deep with all organization) and fictional players (like we saw in PSBL with historical players, bloodlines players and novelty players).
I can guarantee that you would likely find a full group of owners who WOULD be willing to donate to get a new 2015 league going, ESPECIALLY with this sim engine that nobody really knows about or has experience with. That was one of the downfall's of Baseball Mogul. Very few newbies would ever pay money for a new start league knowing that some folks mastered different versions of the game.

I agree with the others that the league needs to be accelerated.
I also agree that the winterball idea, while fun, just isn't worth it.
I did not like the old draft (obviously, I could never figure it out, stupid as I am). I would rather use real life prospects, maybe mixed with "fake" ones as necessary.
Making the league using 2015 MLB rosters would definitely draw more interest than a league of fictious players.
Lastly, I would prefer a fantasy draft, but I would be in for either set up.

If we get the old PSBL back up and running, I'm game. I'd much rather get the 2053 season back and rolling, but anything would be good. Next, I'd prefer real teams with all fictional players (like said, the attachment to players wouldn't get in the way of intelligent decisions). But all-in-all if it came down to needing real players to revitalize the old PSBL style, I'd still be down for it.
